BUGGIES/CAR SEATS
We can check in buggies and car seats with the airline you are travelling with if:
You have booked for AirPortr's bag check-in service however, you must be linked with an infant or child on the same ticket reservation in order to ensure the items will be checked in.
Although the airline classes these items as part of your free baggage allowance, you will still incur a charge for the collection, transfer and check-in service just like any other item of luggage when using our AirPortr service.
Child and infant items include,
- fully-collapsible pushchair (stroller)
- car or booster seat
- travel cot
- baby back carrier
Please clearly mark and identify these items to the driver upon collection and he will proceed to add them under the correct passenger. You can always notify us a minimum of 2 hours before the collection takes place and we will make a note of this on your reservation.
If you need to use a buggy or stroller to the gate we can still provide you with the collection/transfer service but will only be able to repatriate the item(s) at the airport near the check-in desk without handing them over to the airline with your other baggage.
WHEELCHAIRS AND ELECTRIC MOBILITY AIDS
We can collect and check-in wheelchairs for passengers with reduced mobility. We can check them in, in addition to your free baggage allowance. If you intend to travel with a power operated or electronic mobility aid then you will need to let the airline know prior to booking our service as there are complex safety regulations regarding checking these items onto your flight.
If your mobility aid is battery operated then the power must be disconnected and isolated before handing over to the driver. Each airline will have various battery handling requirements, please do consult with your airline on additional guidance on requirements.
